Golfing for Good Pays Off

Local business and community leaders joined Union Station supporters, from as far away as New York and San Francisco, to golf for a good cause at Union Station’s 16th Annual Golf Tournament. Held at Brookside Country Club on Monday, May 19, 2008 the tournament raised more than $250,000 for Union Station’s programs for homeless community members.

Special thanks to Tournament Co-Chairs Charlie Chiara and Jim Hart and the volunteer event committee, who planned the event: Ed Barnum, Ron Binkier, Sheila Boyd, Lance Broderick, Jim Everett, John Horn, Bob McCrary, Doug Lindquist, Tom Polenzani, Phil Raycraft and Sugi Wong. The committee extends its thanks to the Union Station volunteers and staff members who helped make the event a success.

Strike Out Homelessness! Bowl-A-Thon

Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) joined hundreds to Strike Out Homelessness at Union Station's Bowl-A-Thon at Bahama Lanes in Pasadena, on March 9, 2008.

Congratulations to all of our bowlers and teams, who raised more than $50,000 for our programs supporting homeless men, women and children. Each bowler raised at least $183, which is the cost to provide one day of food, shelter, and services for a homeless individual at Union Station Foundation.

Celebration for Union Station

Gary Bovyer, Soloist

Renowned clarinetist Gary Bovyer and the Occidental-Caltech Symphony, under the direction of Allen Robert Gross, performed Celebration for Union Station, a classical concert benefiting Union Station Foundation.

Held at All Saints Church on April 5, the event raised more than $40,000 for Union Station's programs for homeless adults and families. In addition to purchasing tickets, many donors chose to underwrite tickets for Union Station clients to attend the concert.

Long-time Union Station supporters James and Harriett Fullerton of Pasadena and Heather and Paul Haaga, Jr. of La Canada were the presenting sponsors of this special concert.

Union Station Young Professionals
Wine Tasting Event

Our inaugural young professionals at Madeleines Restaurant and Wine Bistro in April 2008 was a huge success! Almost one hundred people attended. Client-made art lined the walls, and music filled the air as professionals from throughout the community enjoyed tastings of red and white wine. Thank you to everyone who came and showed your support!
