Many of our supporters encourage their friends, family, customers, clients and colleagues to make a financial gift to Union Station because they know how important our work is. Why not make it easy for them? Create your own fundraiser to benefit Union Station.

    Home Sweet Home Holiday Party: Help someone in need this holiday season by hosting your own "Home Sweet Home" Holiday Party. It's easy. Pick a location. Pick a date. Invite friends, family and colleagues. And, ask your guests to make a donation to benefit Union Station's clients.

Here are some of the other creative ways that our supporters have helped to raise money for Union Station while doing things they love.
  • Online Fundraising: Create your own fundraising page and then email your family and friends to sponsor you. Firstgiving.com offers tips for online fundraising for any occasion, from marathons to birthdays.
  • Athletic Milestone: Have your friends and family sponsor you for an athletic milestone (running a marathon, bike race, etc.) by asking them to send a tribute gift to Union Station in your honor. (This is a great one for an online fundraising page!)
  • Walk/Run: Organize your own walk/run with friends, colleagues and family. Plan a route in your neighborhood (or venture somewhere new) and end with a casual lunch or barbecue. Encourage participants to bring a donation for Union Station.
  • Car Wash: Organize a car wash at a local gas station and donate proceeds to Union Station.
  • Lemonade and Cookie Stand: This is a great opportunity to get the kids involved and instill the values of philanthropy at a young age.
  • Host a Party: Host a pool party, dinner party, barbecue, or holiday party. Set a financial goal and inform your guests. After showing them Union Station’s short informational DVD, you’ll be sure to surpass your fundraising goal!
  • Union Station Week at the Office: Host “Union Station Week” at your office. Set a realistic goal and encourage all employees to participate by donating money or goods to benefit Union Station. This can be done formally or informally, either by working with your Human Resources Department and involving the whole company, or organizing something with those that would be interested.
  • Be Creative! Inspire us by dreaming up your own creative way to help raise funds for Union Station. You’ll be surprised at how much fun it can be.

We can provide you with Union Station materials, flyers, remit envelopes and tips to make sure your fundraiser is a success. We can also provide a speaker to talk about Union Station, so let us know if you’d like one of our staff members or volunteers to come speak to your group.
